Witch tree?

Last Sunday I caught sight of the sunset sky and rushed out with the camera and almost accidentally got this silhouette of the hollow tree in the field beside our house.

This morning I saw two young foxes chasing blackbirds in the frost round the same tree - sorry all happened too quickly to get a picture

Valentine's Day

Jacqui, "I don't suppose I will get roses this year as Tesco have increased their prices..."

So I went to Morrisons instead. And they also had strawberries in a heart shaped box - so we had those for breakfast - sorry no picture

In the evening we had a meal at our 'new' Indian/Chinese restaurant (ex Warwick Arms pub) and Jacqui came away with another red rose - but this one was plastic.

Hodsock 2008

On a gloriously sunny winter's day we set off again to Hodsock Prioy to see the snowdrops (which were once apparently called Candlemass Bells) [Our first visit is recorded here]

The formal gardens are quite good, but the best views of the snowdrops are on the woodland trail

And finally here is Mum making friends with a squirrel - or is she trying to wring its neck (for the damage they do in our garden)?

"The Laddows" were invited to play instrumental music during the pudding tasting. However Colin was not able to play bass so Dave stepped in and did a marvellous job - thanks Dave!

Its supposed to be snowing...

The weather man said heavy snowfall was on its way.

The news carried stories of schools planning to close for the day.

and we got...
