Bluebells

After the snowdrops come the daffodils and after the daffodils come...

My physiotherapist (running partner) took me on a walk round our normal running route (Burleigh Wood) to make sure I saw the bluebells at their best.

Bullfinch

We have been delighted to add this bird to our list of regular garden visitors.
I recently got text from someone(!) that read: "Two bull diocies on bird feeder".
This is the first photographic evidence.

100 years and 33 years ...

To mark the centenary of Loughborough College
a history of the college was commissioned and a celebration event planned.

A centenary lecture in the Cope Auditorium was given by Prof. Cantor.
Afterwards the five longest serving members of the college staff
were presented with copies of the book.

Butterfly walk

I was tempted out to the Thorpe Acre Trail by the sun and found that the butterflies had also been tempted out. I am very pleased to have photographed 7 varieties in one outing: Tortoiseshell, Peacock, Small White, Brimstone, Orange Tip, Speckled Wood, Comma.

Herbert Morris - Loughborough & New Zealand

Hazel, Mark & Steph took a walk to "Taylor's Mistake" beach at Godley Head.
They took a detour to the tunnels and battery.
The machinery in the battery was installed by Herbert Morris around 1939.
Robin worked with a team of three others from Loughborough Grammar School on a prize-winning project for Morris Hoists called EHMU (Electronic Hoist Monitoring Unit)

Easter SonRise ...

The SonRise service at 6:30am on Beacon Hill was well attended
- but there was too much mist to allow a view of the sunrise.
The children bought the mummy some Easter flowers

There were eggs hung on a twig of curly Hazel, painted eggs and chocolate eggs

... and a Pandora bracelet for the mummy, with trinkets: giraffe, house, handbag, guitar
