Bird Watchers Spring Fair, Middleton Hall

This is an annual event that we only caught up with this year. Middleton Hall is a wonderful venue and it was a gloriously sunny day
We spent as much time outside in the sun as we did around the stalls inside
At the ringing demonstration we were shown a female bullfinch, a young robin and this which is a female ... ?

Sharpe's Pottery, Swadlincote

Attracted by the advertising which offered a free cream tea we made our way to Sharpe's Pottery Museum, Swadlincote
And, guess what, they were doing cream teas and they were completely free
And we came away with a memento of the old "Cornishware" for our kitchen. [Note the factory has recently re-opened and is now selling a new Cornishware range.]

The Graduate, Leeds

Despite warnings of sexual content and nudity, we went to see the matinee performance of The Graduate with sister-in-law taking the role of Mrs Robinson. We enjoyed the play though were a little thrown where it departs from the film. The other disconcerting thing was how 'lost' we were in Leeds after 'Jane' dropped us off at the Merrion Centre.

New windows

The inspection team arrives to assess the new windows and after a thorough examination pronounce them very good - more pictures here

Etwall - 2nd attempt

We went last week when it was someone's birthday and the weather was great. But we were too early.

So we went again this week but this time the weather was bad (rain) so we didn't stay long. The well dressings we saw were good and the Morris dancers put on a lively show.
