Nana tree roots

Robin and I usually do a bit of gardening at Nana's on a Sunday. At a certain time of the year her lawn starts growing mini trees and we have a bit of fun pulling up the sucker roots of the Sumac tree we think is responsible. The roots are often thicker than a thumb and about 2" below the surface of the lawn. We got pieces out which were as long as me - as you can see from the picture

River cruise, Nottingham

The excuse was a 'leaving do', so mum got invited to an evening Trent River Cruise with buffet - and spouses were also invited. It was a lovely warm, sunny evening - pity there was nowhere 'outside' to sit on the boat.

Old stomping grounds

Here is the Hall of residence that I was associated with, or in, for my undergraduate stay at Leeds University - Devonshire Hall

And here is the back-to-back terraced house that was our first married home while I was still a post-graduate research student
It did not have a dormer window then. And we grew vegetables, not trees, in the garden.

Burleigh Wood run

Once a week I am encouraged by my running partner to do the 3 mile (OK, 2.96m) route up to Burleigh wood and back. We would normally expect to complete it in just under 30min. My new phone supplied the statistics

You can see a series of snaps at mobile phone quality of the route
