Father's Day Presents

This is the content of the package pictured in the last post - its a kind of swazzle (think Punch and Judy) that you are supposed to be able to place on the roof of your mouth and use to mimic birdsong. Well at least I got a pleasant(ish) sound out of it which is more than I can say for...
...the dreaded Vuvuzela which drowned out all other sounds at the world cup football. The white tube was stowed inside the main tube and it was a while (not until Robin visited) that it was discovered to be separate, extricated, screwed onto the end and made the double length trumpet (there were no instructions). Unfortunately there was not much time to practice with it before the national side was ignominiously knocked out of the tournament.

A present from NZ by bicycle from the Nederlands?

A very mysterious envelope arrived today which may have something to do with Father's Day.

Sitting pretty...

The church has a new minibus (bought with real money, not petrol vouchers this time)

The pictures show some of those most likely to benefit!

Did you spot Nana in the first picture?

A caged squirrel and other sightings from nature

I recently acquired two more squirrel proof feeders (at considerable cost) and they have been working well until today!

As an antidote to marking I had a walk round Thorpe Acre trail and found these 'things' which are awaiting identification. Is this a butterfly or moth?

Well actually I am pretty sure this is a damselfly of some sort

and I would call this a dragonfly.
This picture is from a week ago from the woods behind the house.
After checking with a couple of other people
we have decided that this delights in the name of the
"Silver-Ground Carpet Moth"
