The 210th Birthday Party (Part 2)

The following day the overnighters and some new guests met for Sunday lunch at Burleigh Court
... and the balloons came too ...

Hazel and Robin were charged with proposing a toast which contained some self-penned 'poetry' and finished with ...

...We also found some "Gentle Thoughts for Today as We Grow Older" and selected one that
we thought was appropriate for each of you:

For Mum - I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

Nana - Ageing: eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Dad - He who hesitates is almost certainly right.

Finally, to Mum and Dad, you're not 60
You're 18 with 42 years' experience.
So that just makes you even more experienced Nana!
So, a toast... .to Mum, Dad, Nana, family and friends... .
a toast to a wonderful 210 years and
many more to come!
Happy Birthday!
Cheers.

The 210th Birthday Party

Robin & Hazel made batch after batch of cupcakes - with each batch a different and more exotic flavour
Mum made two fruit cakes

On the day we met at the Link Hotel in the snow
There was barn dancing to "The Funkies and the Fogies"
and "The Ladows" played through their extensive Shadows repertoire
Roger got on better with his dancing after he changed to a new pair of shoes
and with Jacqui as partner was even awarded a certificate!
There were the formalities of the cutting of the cakes

Hazel encouraged the part along with her bubbly presence
But all this was only part 1 ...
