Thorpe Acre Trail

Being August I thought it was about time I checked to see if there were any Damsel flies about near the water. Is it going to be a poor year for them as well as butterflies...?

At first I couldn't find anything interesting then this dragonfly caught my eye

And then, unbelievably, it perched much closer...

and the camera obliged with pretty sharp focus
